At Classic Legacy Custom Gifts, I create distinctive themed and custom gifts designed to reflect a person, place, passion or special occasion. I’m Catherine Tatum, designer and founder of Classic Legacy. I combine classic gift items with silver medallions, mother-of-pearl, enamel designs, artwork and custom logos to create gifts with character and meaning.
From decanters and barware to Christmas ornaments, accessories and commemorative gifts, I design for individual customers as well as hotels, museums, historic properties, businesses, clubs and organizations. Many of our gifts are assembled and hand-embellished in my Classic Legacy studio in Germantown, Tennessee.
Meet Catherine Tatum, Designer & Founder
Hello, I’m Catherine Tatum, designer and founder of Classic Legacy Custom Gifts. I have been designing gifts for more than three decades, and I still love the challenge of finding just the right design for a person, organization, or special occasion.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to create gifts for hotels, museums, historic homes, businesses, and special events, as well as gifts that celebrate the interests and milestones of individual customers. I especially enjoy taking an unexpected element—a vintage silver medallion, a piece of artwork, a logo or mother-of-pearl—and finding a way to make it part of a distinctive gift.
My studio is in Germantown, Tennessee, where new ideas often begin with the question, “What could I do with this?”
What Makes Classic Legacy Different?
I have always loved details that make a gift memorable. Instead of relying only on traditional engraving, I use distinctive elements such as silver medallions, mother-of-pearl, custom artwork, and logos to give each design its own character.

Designing Gifts That Have Meaning
From My Studio to Your Gift
Many Classic Legacy designs begin with something that catches my eye—a vintage medallion or interesting piece of art. Other projects begin with a logo, photograph, or artwork. From my studio, I develop the design, select the elements, and determine how they will work together. Classic Legacy gifts are assembled and hand-embellished in the studio. I enjoy the hands-on process because it allows an ordinary gift to become distinctive and meaningful.
After more than three decades of designing gifts, I still enjoy discovering new ideas and how to develop elegant gifts that are enjoyed and loved. A good gift always connects to the person receiving it. The connection might be a family tradition, special event, anniversary, or history. My goal is to create gifts that are loved and remembered!
